We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, EEC certified Pre-K teacher to guide a classroom of young children in a variety of educational activities, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and Jewish curriculum. Your prime responsibility is to teach them the fundamental concepts they need to know for kindergarten, such as identifying numbers and letters, socializing well with others, and working effectively in a classroom structure.
Joint curriculum planning will take place every week. Teachers are expected to be present for the entire
session. At these sessions teachers will plan the next week's (Monday through Friday) curriculum and activities. Teachers must work until 5:30 one day per week.
Judaica is an integral part of the curriculum. Jewish holidays, Shabbat, Israel and Hebrew language will be taught. Hebrew prayers are chanted on a daily basis including brachot before eating, and brachot associated with holidays and Shabbat. Simple Hebrew is utilized in songs and phrases. It is the teacher's responsibility to learn these prayers, Hebrew songs, stories about Jewish holidays, and simple Hebrew words.
